Machilu plays a key role in developing and implementing the Humanities Division's strategy for promoting Equality and Diversity in the Division. This includes:
Providing expert advice and support for faculties applying for the Athena SWAN Bronze Award, including research and data analysis into gender demographics.
Supporting the Humanities Division Academic Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Simon Park. Priorities include advancing gender and race equality and engagement with Athena SWAN and the Race Equality Charter.
Researching, writing and presenting information and reports on E&D issues to committees and other bodies.
Representing the Humanities Division on E&D issues in the collegiate University and externally, including supporting divisional responses to relevant policy initiatives.
